In the two weeks since the last DAO Committee report, three Points of Interest (POI) have been added to the Decentraland map, one grant proposal was approved, and five community polls have passed.
Decentraland DAO Governance dApp Updates
The governance dApp has completed the roll-out of the three-tiered binding governance proposal process passed by the Decentraland community on December 20, 2021. Proposals outside of established categories will now be required to pass through an iterative three-stage voting process before implementing a binding decision.
A “Pre-Proposal Poll” requiring a threshold of 500k VP; a “Draft Proposal” with a threshold of 1M VP; and a “Binding Governance Proposal” with a point of 6M VP.
Identifying yourself as an active member of the Decentraland governance community and delegating votes to these individuals will increase the amount of active voting power in the DAO. The “Open Call for Delegates” remains active on the Decentraland Governance Forum. Those who apply will be featured on the Governance Delegation dApp.
Meanwhile, due to the high demand for wearable curation, the Wearable Curation Committee has proposed several nominees to serve as new committee members. Proposals are currently active for the following candidates: Kristian, Fabeeo Breen, James Guard, Mitch Todd, AndreusAs, Grimey, and Sango. Each nominee is an established Decentraland community member with a strong record of producing wearables.
These recent updates will be discussed at the monthly DAO Town Hall on February 10th, at 4:30 pm EST / 9:30 pm UTC. DAO will host the Town Hall on the dedicated DAO Discord server.

Polls
Would you like to see web 3.0 become the same as its previous heavily censored versions?
- Switch to a user controlled blocking mechanic 99% 757,642 VP (29 votes)
- Keep status quo 0% 4,100 VP (1 votes)
- Invalid question/options 0% 0 VP (0 votes)
The issue of “censorship” and content moderation is complicated and contentious. On the one hand, Decentraland and its community are committed to the ethos of its namesake: decentralization. On the other hand, Decentraland does not exist in a jurisprudential vacuum. The Decentraland Foundation is legally liable for content hosted on the primary version of the Decentraland Client that it is responsible for maintaining.
Decentraland’s root coding is open source, and those seeking complete decentralization are welcome to fork the client and independently host unmoderated versions of the client. Delegates may promote this poll to a Draft Proposal where impacts and implementation pathways can be further explored.
Mana Distribution to Land owners?
- Yes 51% 2,287,099 VP (22 votes)
- No 48% 2,140,104 VP (15 votes)
- Invalid question/options 0% 0 VP (0 votes)
A small margin has passed a poll on distributing MANA to LAND owners. This distribution poll may be promoted to a Draft Proposal, and this topic will be raised as a point of discussion at this month’s Town Hall meeting.
Allow zoom in and zoom out with the mouse wheel during third-person viewpoint?
- Yes 100% 525,512 VP (19 votes)

- Slot Price: USD 400 / Commission for Curators: USD 50 0% 3,760 VP (3 votes)
- Slot Price: USD 500 / Commission for Curators: USD 50 97% 2,840,270 VP (7 votes)

- Slot Price: USD 700 / Commission for Curators: USD 50 0% 0 VP (1 votes)
- Invalid question/options 0% 102 VP (1 votes)
The Decentraland DAO has voted to allow Third Party NFT projects to create a DAO proposal to purchase wearable slots for $500. A previously passed proposal created a pathway for NFT projects to be approved and added to the DAO’s Third Party Registry. This process will not change the cost of publishing a wearable, only the process of how the curation committee processes it.
(PRE-PROPOSAL POLL) Should Decentraland DAO Participate in Olympus Pro Partner Program?
